Light Up The Delaware River Party

It's exciting to say the least that this Sunday is finally the big day.  The group has put in long nights to make sure YOU are ready for a DELAWARE RIVER CELEBRATION!!  If you don't already have plans check out our updated party locations page.  Philly has stepped up and promises it will be a fabulous affair. Maybe you're into a more private affair....that's ok too!  Some exciting news this week includes an airplane & film crew will be doing  fly-overs of the party.

We Want Your Party Photos!!!! Light Up The Delaware River Party wants photos of your light up events! We'll overlay them on a map of the Delaware River and present it to the Delaware River Basin Commission at their 9-23-09 
and 10-22-09 meetings. Make sure the DRBC knows you're awake and 
moving!

Winners of the Light Up The Delaware River Party! photo contest will 
be in the running to receive a jar of LOCALLY-made maple syrup from 
Sara's Sugar Shack, a free half hour massage from Massage Therapist 
Amanda Halloran or one of Amanda's personally-designed "smudged and 
blessed" key necklaces.

Light Up The Delaware River Party welcomes other Basin artists, 
artisans and service providers who'd like to offer "goodies" for the

Our two friends Liz Bucar (Breathing is Political/Cottage Works) and Leni Santoro (The Catskill Chronicle)...have hit the road today to save our Delaware River from the potential harm of gas drilling in the area.  For those of you who don't know there plan is to spend this weekend traveling up and down the Delaware River with invitations to our upcoming "Light Up The Delaware River Party" on September 6th.  The dynamic duo also lovingly known as the "granny-somethings" came up with the idea a few weeks ago to reach out to community activist all along the Delaware River to have them host mini events on September 6th.  Their idea is to have all 330 miles of the river lit by candlelight at 7:30pm that evening.
